How Did I Get Here?

Hi! My name is Emilie! I began my healing journey 10 years ago now when I began seeing my first therapist and doing yoga. I don’t feel like my healing journey really began until I took it into my own hands about 5 years ago. I learned more about psychology and healing the body, and this inspired me to pursue my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. During this program, I was trained in many different psychotherapy models, and I pursued official trainings separately for play therapy, working with families, understanding trauma, and working with queer and neurodivergent populations. I also worked for a year as a counselor during my internship, and facilitated multiple therapy groups.

I was most lit up by a transformative meditation group I facilitated for a semester. This group began as a meditation group, but quickly transformed as I was inspired by the interests of my classmates and participants. This group became a relational meditation, mindfulness, and movement group that really allowed us to open up, process emotions, and connect with each other. From that moment on, I knew that was the kind of work I wanted to be doing. A combination of movement, connection with others, ourselves, and our bodies, and an energetic shift that allowed you to step into a sense of safety with others.

Since graduating from my Master’s Program, I have decided to pursue this type of work as an intuitive healer, rather than a traditional psychotherapist, and I hope to use what I have learned from traditional therapy spaces, combined with alternative forms of healing, to embody healing in a way that feels completely creative, intuitive, and transformational. My work combines understanding systems, development, trauma with play, movement, and my personal interests in astrology and tarot, to help people heal, become their most authentic selves, and align with their best possible life.

If you feel inspired by my story, I would love to work with you in any way that resonates! I see clients individually, host regular workshops online, and plan to host workshops and retreats in person soon.
